JESUS IS THE TRUE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Hi Friends and a Joyous Christmas to you!

Yesterday, a surprise beacon of light came from a distant window to shine on the antique Nativity scene under our tree. For authenticity, I created the cave setting to replace the traditional barn….this after visiting the limestone cavern below the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.

Grandma's Nativity Scene

You’re only seeing a few of my Grandmother’s antique figurines. With all the tiny statues circling the base of the tree, the natural sunlight specifically illuminated the manger for about 5 minutes.  How beautiful!

Light bends, you know.  It wraps around corners and reaches into obscure and unexpected places.  It wakes us up and shows us the way.

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”  John 8:12 NIV

I love how Jesus, the Light of the world, bends to meet us where we are; around the corners of our hurting hearts.  He shows up in unexpected places and illuminates our minds to the Truth of His word.  When we need direction, He shows us that He is the Way.   What a joy to follow Him!

Thank you Father God for sending your precious Son to us.  If not, how would we know of Your great love for us?

May your Christmas be greatly blessed!

In Christ always,

Carole

A CHRISTMAS PRAYER by Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894)

Loving Father,

Help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and the worship of the wise men. Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world.  Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting.

Deliver us from evil by the blessings that Christ brings and teach us to be merry with a clear heart. May the Christmas morning help us to be happy with Thy children and may the Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus’ sake.   Amen.
