Hi Friends!

Blessings to you this chilly January day!

Yes, it’s a new year and I’m looking forward to all that the Lord has for us.  Aren’t you?

As I put all of my Christmas decorations away and put my antique Bible back in its place, I thought I’d share a little about this family treasure with you.

My King James Bible was a gift given to my great-grandparents on their wedding day in 1871. There are several pictures of my ancestors inside including the one below of Elizabeth Melvin.

What a darling great-grandmother-to-be with no clue that I would be mentioning her almost 150 years later!

I believe that Elizabeth treasured her Bible and that she prayed for her family.  Those prayers have made a difference in my being here and the Lord’s protection over my life.

It’s amazing to think that God has made me a caretaker of His Holy word, not just on antique pages, but His living, breathing Word!  We find it in book form, on the internet, audio Bible, braille; whatever form we can take to heart and hide there.

I’m greatly blessed to have evidence of my descendants.  Yes, I realize that.  But, as an heiress in God’s Kingdom, my descendants go back much farther.  You’ll find their stories in the Old and New Testaments.

As you look ahead to 2018, remember that Matthew 6:21 tells us, “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

God bless you as you keep seeking His treasure!

In Christ always,

‘For in him we live and move and have our being.‘  Acts 17:28
