HOPE-full in 2022

What are you hoping for this year? A new beginning? A fresh start in 2022?

I’m personally working on that mindset but last year’s challenges are still carrying over no matter what the calendar says. Do you agree?

Here are three psalms in the New International Version that express what we may be feeling these days. Psalm 42:5, Psalm 42:11Psalm 43:5 all say the same: Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me?   There’s nothing new about stress.

But then, each of these psalms ends with Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.   God’s word is the best stress reliever! It shows us how to relinquish our independent thoughts to our Savior, Jesus Christ. (Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 10:5) Our Lord completely understands and He’s sent His Holy Spirit to give us our new HOPE-full year!

Let’s make up our minds in 2022 to focus on HOPE. Here’s how.

Healing from past hurts by daily spending quiet time in God’s presence, letting Him mend our hearts   Psalm 62:5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.

Obedience to learn from God’s word and keep regular personal visits with Him through prayer   Psalm 25:5 Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Praise God for how He continues to show His great love for us  Psalm 52:9 For what you have done I will always praise you…And I will hope in your name ·   1 Peter 1:1 Praise to God for a Living Hope

Expectation -knowing that God’s plan is to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11)  Psalm 39:7 But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you.

Intentionally living for a HOPE-full new year is a resolution that we can all embrace! Are you with me?   As we move into 2022, let’s keep our hearts and minds open to the Holy Spirit’s leading. He will give us everything we need and enable us to be effective witnesses for Christ.

Be strong and take heart, all you who HOPE in the Lord! Psalm 31:24

Listen as I sing for you Isaiah 40:31
