God’s Love is the Greatest

Hi Again Friends!

Greetings from Northern California! .   I thank the Lord for opportunities to praise Him in so many ways including through my Praise Notes emails to you! Thanks so much for your continuing kindness, interest, and support as together we seek the Lord’s direction for this new year.   Since Valentine’s Day is just ahead, what a perfect time to let God’s word remind us of His great love.   Be encouraged and blessed today! In Christ, Carole
 1 Peter 4:11

God’s Love is the Greatest
I recently heard a song from back in the ’60’s with the lyrics, “What the world needs now, is love sweet love. It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of.” Another song from several years back had the chorus, “Jesus is the answer for the world today.”   Both songwriters had it right. God’s love is the answer for what the world needs now!

The sacrificial love that Jesus made for us two-thousand years ago is as significant today as it has been throughout all generations. Are you certain that God’s love is the greatest?
Take a moment to contemplate this passage“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. John 3:16 MSG

Feel the touch of the Holy Spirit as you open your heart to read 1 John 4:16 , “We know how much God loves us because we have felt his love and because we believe him when he tells us that he loves us dearly. God is love, and anyone who lives in love is living with God and God is living in him.”

The Apostle Paul believed in God’s love when he wrote, “For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels won’t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, or where we are—high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean—nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.” Romans 8:36-39 TLB

Are we as convinced as Paul was, even in these tough times? Are these pandemic days testing your faith?   Secular media tests our faith with daily broadcasts that point us away from God’s love. How sad. Many people are trusting their own instincts and ignoring the heart tugs from the Holy Spirit. I’ve been there myself.

Again, the Bible gives us the solution. Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track”  Proverbs 3:5-6 The Message

When we understand that God’s love is our covering, we live with confidence, deepest gratitude, faith, and hope.   Walking daily in His presence will lead us to the path of good choices, the freedom to love God in return, and the ability to show His love to others; what ever’s going on in our lives. Oh, how we want the world to know that God’s love is the greatest.

God bless your days ahead as you love and serve Him with your whole heart!
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

1 Cor. 13:13     Happy Valentine’s Day!

THOUGHTS TO CONSIDER
1. What distracts you from thinking about God’s love and talking with Him through prayer?
2. When and how has God demonstrated His love for you in a specific situation?
