Hi Again Friends! I honestly don’t know of anyone who isn’t facing some challenges right now. The groups I’m part of have long lists of prayer requests for health, safety, wisdom, finances, grief-recovery, and on and on. I’m sure the same is true for you. Because we’re faced with disappointments, trials, and tragedies, our enemy is working relentlessly to make us feel helpless and hopeless. I’ve felt that way while staring at an overwhelming problem. In such times, Satan makes his move to confuse and stifle our relationship with God. In Jesus’ name, let’s resist! Who do we depend on for advice in challenging times? Do we solely rely on family members, pastors, teachers, TV personalities, politicians, government agencies, health care providers, or others for answers? All of these fellow human beings could offer good support and God can certainly work through many of them. But, has anyone ever let you down? After all, we are all just human. This is the point where our faith can really come alive. Yes, alive and applied! With the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit, we can ask for the supernatural wisdom and strength we so desperately need to rely on. Consider the following definitions for the words rely, wisdom, strength, and Holy Spirit. ![]() |

rely: to have confidence based on experience, to be dependent wisdom: a learning acquired over a period of time; knowledge, insight, judgement strength: power to resist force and resist attack Holy Spirit: the third person of the Christian Trinity Jesus sent His Holy Spirit, the third person of the Christian Trinity, to dwell within us. In the Book of Acts, Peter boldly proclaimed, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38 NIV Praise God for gifting us in a way that’s not natural, but supernatural! It doesn’t make sense but oh, how we embrace this reality. The Apostle Paul wrote to the people of Corinth, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 When God’s Spirit dwells within us, He comforts us, empowers us, and give us the wisdom we need when facing tough decisions. He opens our minds to the truth of God’s word. The prophet Isaiah also wrote, “The life-giving Spirit of God will hover over you, the Spirit that brings wisdom and understanding, The Spirit that gives direction and builds strength, the Spirit that instills knowledge and Fear-of-God. — will be all your joy and delight.” Isaiah 11:2-3a MSG As we enter the second half of 2022, let’s daily keep our hearts and minds open to the Holy Spirit’s leading. God will give us everything we need and enable us to share His truth with others. God bless you, right now, with an extra portion of His peace. In Christ always, Carole |
